However, wearing your suit an average of once a week during the summer means it should last you two summers based on how often you wear it and how well it is cared for. Of course, no suit will last forever, but there are a few simple things you can do to insure the life of your bathing suits: Brand Name and Reputation – brand names are important when it comes to Plus Size Swimwear . Well known brands have been on the market for years, a testament to the quality of their swim suits and the popularity of their designs. Reputation is important as well, so be sure to do your research on the brands you like and read customer reviews to see what other buyers have to say. Plus Size Profits Soar

An Interesting Look at Plus size and Profitability Demand for spring clothing sagged in the latest retail sales data for March, but plus-sized clothing is bringing plus-sized profit to retailers.

The average American woman is now a size 14, according to some research, and that’s currently the entry size to the plus-sized clothing category.

Retailers who have figured this out have seen their stocks skyrocket. For example, Avenue, owned by the United Retail Group, has seen its stock price jump 42 percent so far this year

Now branding is coming to plus-sized clothing. Jessica Simpson, for example, has put her name on a line of clothes for Avenue, and they have sold very well.

American model Daisy Fuentes, another celebrity who was already selling clothes, is expanding her line. She has been selling a line of clothing at Kohl’s, which has seen its company stock price rise 10 percent so far this year.

Fuentes says her clothing line has actually become a full-time job. She started out with a basic sportswear line in sizes 4 to 14, and now her clothing line has expanded in both variety and sizes.

“I go to the stores a lot and I talk to my customers a lot and the biggest demand was for petite and plus sizes, and it just had to be addressed,” Fuentes said. “These women’s biggest gripe is they can’t find clothes that fit with the correct style, so we had to pick and choose and get the right designers to make sure the fit was great and make sure we had the right body types.”

“Women want to look sexy. They want to look stylish, and there’s no reason why you can’t be just as sexy and stylish in a size 16 as you can be in a size 2,” Fuentes added.

By some estimates, the plus-size market has grown 50 percent to $32 billion in the last 5 years, as women have grown in to the plus-size category and have had the confidence, the money and the desire to demand style.

At Dress Barn, where the company stock price is up over 25 percent so far this year, the larger-sized women’s division is outselling the smaller-sized “Missy” division, though the company’s latest same-store sales numbers missed analysts’ expectations.

However, Dress Barn also bought Maurices, a chain focused on fashions for men and women in the twenty-something category. David Jaffe, the company’s president and CEO, says there are no plans to expand into plus sizes just yet; they’ve been experimenting. But as for his thoughts on bringing in a celebrity:

“We feel out brand speaks for itself, and so we are trying to make a connection between our brand and our customer, and not between some celebrity and our customer,” Jaffe told CNBC.

To balance these larger bodies, it is necessary to pay closer attention to face shape and body proportions in determining the right hairstyles. Studies show that while people notice you from the feet up, they remember you from the top down. If you want people to remember you fondly and remember you in proportion, remember your hair. Drama attracts the eye, so you have the opportunity to use your hair to make a bolder, more elegant, more chic, more whatever statement than your body.

Above all, your hairstyle should flatter you, be easy to care for, and reflect your personality and style - just like your clothes. Most plus-size women look better in hairstyles that add a little volume or height across the width of their head at the crown. Everything depends on your body/head/hair ratio, but generally you want to choose a hairstyle shape that is in harmony with, but does not exactly repeat the shape of your face or body.

Top five hair do's and don'ts for plus-size women:

1. Do wear your hair above your shoulders. Wearing your hair longer than shoulder length creates a single mass silhouette with your head, neck and shoulders running into your body. The best lengths are about half inch above our shoulders or shorter, which adds neck length.

2. Do keep most of your hair off your face. Don't try that short pixie haircut with the hair brushed forward, toward, or onto your face and forehead. Although I see this recommended in a lot of hoe-to books, this look makes even a thin face look full and tends to squash all your features together. Whatever the style - long, short, medium - a fuller face will always be more enhanced by hair directed up, off and away. Generally, wearing it with a little height on top and directing it up and back away from the temples works well.

3. Do wear styles that frame the face without closing it in. Don't wear full bands that can square or close off a full face and make it look even more full. Wear your bangs wispy or brushed to one side.

4. Do take some chances with your hair and embrace change. No one should be sentenced to the same hairstyle for life! You, your hair, and the fashions of the times change constantly, so you will need to rethink your style and color periodically, too. As you get older your skin tone changes, and if you are coloring your hair you may need a slightly different shade. If you don't ask, the colorist may just stick to the color formula in your file.

Do take the time to style your hair on a daily basis. Sadly, people do judge a book by its cover, and as the odds may already be stacked against you for being larger in size, it is imperative that hair and makeup be perfect. Some people are born with great hair, but most are not. If color or body wave will enhance your skin tone or hair texture, do it! If your hair needs the aid of rollers or a curling iron, use them! If you are not adept at styling your hair or using tools to achieve the look you want, schedule one or more appointments with your hairdresser for styling instruction. Persevere until you get the hang of it.
